Become a Competitive Angler
Live the Dream
The South African School of Fly Fishing offers a clear pathway for young anglers who aspire to compete at the highest level. Our two‑tiered development structure begins with the Feeder Programme, designed for youngsters aged 9 to 12, where they learn the fundamentals of fly fishing in a fun and structured environment. From there, talented participants can progress to our Elite Development Squad, aimed at high‑school anglers ready to refine their technical skills, tactical awareness and competition mindset. This advanced training prepares squad members for provincial trials and team selection, ultimately leading to participation in the South African Youth Fly Fishing Championship and, for the top youth anglers, the possibility of national team representation on the international stage.
